Conference / Symposium / Seminar
You are cordially invited to the second Data Conversations, which will take place on November 19th from 11.45-13.30 (including free lunch) in the Aurora Room of the VU Main Building and is organized by the Library.
This time, we will discuss version control.
What you call the “final” version almost never is….
Your research output, whether it is your manuscript, your research data, or an analytical workflow, goes through an unpredictable number of versions. What you call the “final” version, almost never is.
We will discuss how proper version control can help you:
- keep track of changes and versions of the files you are working on,
- make your research process and its documentation more transparent and better reproducible for yourself and others
There will be a hands-on practical, so bring your laptop!
|11.45-12.00||Welcome with free lunch|
|12.00-12.25||Talk: introduction to version control|
|12.25-13.25||Practical on how to start using version control in your workflow (bring your laptop!)|
|13.25-13.30||Final remarks and conclusion|

Open Science aims to make research open, transparent and reproducible. What does that mean in practice? During the Data Conversations, VU researchers from all disciplines get together to exchange ideas and good practices regarding open data, FAIR data, research data management and more.
Who should attend?
Data Conversations brings together researchers, research support staff and data management experts from all subject areas. Early career researchers as well as experienced academics are welcome to attend.
